Enter your phone number and recieve a verification code. Each time you sign in, the verification code acts as your secure password to enter.
Choose a username. This is how other users will see and find you throughout the app.
Set your location and allow location access to enter the app and see all of the restaurants, dishes, and people nearby!

Profile
Where is my profile?
Your profile can be found on the right hand side of the bottom navigation. By default, you’ll have a cute little avatar that you can replace with a photo of yourself.
What information in my profile is public?
Your profile displays all of the restaurants, dishes, and people you’ve liked (♥) throughout the app. The only personal information we display is the Name / Username / Location and Profile Photo you’ve chosen.
How do I edit my profile?
To edit your Name / Username / Location / and Link, tap the “Edit Profile” button on the top right of your profile.
How do I share my profile?
Simply click the upward arrow button next to the “Edit Profile” button to copy your profile link or share your profile via Airdrop, iMessage, Mail, WhatsApp, Twitter, and more!

Restaurants
Why don’t I see every restaurant nearby?
We only include restaurants that have plant-based options which have been verified by members of the Kompas team, our City Leaders, and users.
How do I add a restaurant?
Tap the + button in the middle of the bottom navigation to suggest restaurants that have plant-based options.
Type in the name of the restaurant and choose from the dropdown.
Add any relevant photos of the restaurant.
Save. You should then see the restaurant on the map without a rating. The restaurant listing will display “Not Yet Rated”. Then City Leaders will see and have the option to add a review if they’ve dined there before.
Why don’t I see the restaurant I’m typing into the Restaurant Field?
Try typing in a few more details: the restaurant street name or city might help pull up the correct listing.

Why can’t I review a restaurant?
Currently, only Kompas City Leaders can add restaurant reviews. We do this to ensure the highest quality reviews from trusted, local plant-based experts. If you believe you fit the criteria, please send us an email at holler@yourkompas.com.

Sharing
How do I share the app?
In the app: tap the kompas icon on the Map / List view > Select “Share App”
Or, copy and paste this link.
How do I share my profile?
Click on the right icon in the bottom navigation to go to your profile > Tap on the upward arrow icon in the top right of your profile > Choose whichever method you’d like to share your profile!
How do I share A restaurant?
Tap into ay restaurant listing > Tap on the upward arrow icon by the like button above the restaurant name > Choose whichever method you’d like to share the restaurant!
How do I share a dish?
Tap into ay restaurant listing > Tap on the dish you’d like to share > Tap on the upward arrow icon by the like button above the dish name > Choose whichever method you’d like to share the dish!

Dishes
How do I add a dish?
Tap the + button in the middle of the bottom navigation and tap “Add Dish” to add menu items from restaurants. You can also tap the + button next to the “Menu” header within a restaurant listing to add dishes.
Choose from a list of restaurants within the Kompas app. Don’t see the restaurant? Tap “Suggest A Restaurant” first.
Type in the name of the dish as it appears on the menu in “Dish Name”
Add the dish ingredients in “Dish Ingredients”
If the dish requires any modifications, please type them into the “Dish Modifications”. For instance, if a dish can be made plant-based by ordering it without dairy, simply say “Order Without Dairy”. Tap “Done” after entering any other modifications. Once you’re done, press the back button to go back to the dish screen.
Add the price of the dish to “Dish Price”
Include any photos of the dish in the Photo(s) section.
Save. You should then see the dish within the restaurant listing.
What does the number under the heart mean?
The number indicated the number of times the dish has been liked. Menu items are listed by the number of likes so you can see what the best things are to order!

Feedback
I’ve experienced a technical issue - what do I do?
If you have any screen recordings or screenshots of the issue, it will help us better understand the issue you’re experiencing. Please send an email to support@yourkompas.com that explains what you were trying to do, and what you believe went wrong. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible to correct the issue!
You can also tap the + icon in the bottom navigation and select “Send Feedback” or tap the kompas logo and select “Send Feedback” to send us an email while you’re in the app at any time.
I have an idea to make Kompas better - who do I tell?

Reporting
I’m seeing some information that’s incorrect - how do I report it?
Tap the “…” icon on any Restaurant or Dish that’s incorrect and you’ll be prompted to send an email with a description of what’s incorrect about the Restaurant or Dish.
I’m seeing innapropriate content within the app - how do I report it?
If the inappropriate content you’re seeing is within a Restaurant or Dish, tap the “…” icon on the top right of any Restaurant or Dish and you’ll be prompted to send an email with a description of what’s inappropriate about the content. We’ll respond within 24 hours.
Someone is bullying or posting inappropriate content within the app - how do I report it?
Please send any screenshots of the innapropriate behavior to support@yourkompas.com. If we deem the behavior unnacceptable, the user will be removed from the app.

Why the name Kompas?
(compas)sion - but with a k because it’s 2019 and we’re a tech company 🤓 Also, a compass is a navigation tool that points you in the right direction, and we like to think we’re guiding you to nothing but great food that happens to save the World.

Your Kompas Inc. was founded on February 13, 2019 by Kristina Plummer.
Where is Kompas located?
The Kompas office is right near the iconic Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, CA.
What type of company is Kompas?
Your Kompas Inc. is a corporation, formed in Delaware, and doing business in San Francisco, California. We are currently in the process of recieving our Public Benefit Corporation (B Corporation) certification.
IS KOMPAS ONLY FOR VEGANS?
NO. Kompas is for flexitarians, gluten-free, pescatarians, vegetarians, Keto-crazed, Paleo people and omnivores on a mission to make the World a better place by way of food. We understand that not everyone can (or wants to) be vegan, and we are here to make it simpler to eat plant-based foods everywhere you go.
WHAT IS THE DEFINITION OF PLANT-BASED?
Just plants. No animal products (dairy, fish, chicken, beef, pork, lamb, shellfish, gelatin, feces, etc).
HOW CAN I HELP?
